Known around the globe as the wagyu of pork, Kurobuta is one of the three best pig breeds in the world sitting alongside the highly regarded Iberian and Mangalista pigs.
Kurobuta is a pure Berkshire pig, bred using traditional Japanese techniques. The deep, nutty and sweet flavour, as well as the fine muscle fibre and high omega fat content help to create the unique characteristics of Kurobuta.

Our Kurobuta are farmed and grain finshed in Fairlie, South Canterbury against the stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps.
